BMCC Hackathon is one-day hackathon taking place on April 6th, hosted at BMCC. Come and build your dream project, learn from our talks and mentors, and win prizes! BMCC Hackathon is free, and made possible thanks to our wonderful supporters and BMCC clubs.

The purpose of this hackathon is to inspire BMCC students to work in a collaborative environment to solve real-world problems by creating needed projects while helping BMCC students familiarize with current technology.

Judging Criteria

  • Idea
    Is the project original? Have you never seen an idea like this before?
  • Creativity
    Does the project demonstrate progressiveness and imagination? Is the new idea meaningful?
  • Execution/ Demo
    Does the project work? Is the user interface fun, captivating, and dynamic? Is there a quality experience for users?
  • Impact on BMCC
    How applicable is this project? Does it offer significant + impactful change? Does the project attempt to address a problem that members of the college community may have? Can the project be used by any specific BMCC department or school?
  • Technical Difficulties
    Is the project an integration of different + unique parts? Did the participants learn + explore new concepts to complete the project? Were devices/APIs used meaningfully?
  • Pitch/ Story
    What is the story/ problem? Is the solution clear? Who is this product for?
